When we work together, we win together!

Thank you!

I was humbled by your support on Election Day and I wanted to personally thank you for your hard work and support! We did it! Because of you, Northern New Mexico remains firmly blue, and we elected great Democrats throughout New Mexico!

We won because we stayed true to New Mexico values that put people first. We will fight for universal, affordable quality healthcare, a strong middle class, and protections for our environment. We ran a campaign to represent EVERYONE.

But, this is only the beginning. Stay involved and stay vocal. We can make major gains these next two years if we continue to build on our momentum!

Thank you again for your continued support. As I traveled across the District, your energy kept me going. I am incredibly honored and grateful to be re-elected as your Congressman in our great state of New Mexico!

Thanks for all that you do,

Ben Ray Signature

Keep Families Together

ICYMI: DCCC Chair Ben Ray Luján demands President Trump "Pick up the phone and stop this"

“If he’s not going to do that, he should … visit these children… maybe it will fix something in him.”

In case you missed it, DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján appeared on MSNBC with Hallie Jackson to discuss his visit to two detention facilities yesterday in Brownsville, Texas, and to demand that President Trump puts a stop to this devastating and un-American policy of separating children from their families at the border.

Congressman Ben Ray Luján prepares for November midterm

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, June 5, 2018                                   CONTACT: LINDA SERRATOYBARRA

Congressman Luján thanks New Mexico’s Third Congressional District Voters and Grassroots Activists for their Support and Sets Focus on the General Election in November.

(Santa Fe, NM) - With early results beginning to come in from New Mexico’s Primary Election, Congressman Ben Ray Luján reemphasized that 2018 is a year of opportunity for Democrats.

“Over the past two years, Americans have marched and rallied against this failed Republican agenda and today people took their energy from the streets to the voting booth,” said Congressman Ben Ray Luján, New Mexico’s Third Congressional District. “I’m humbled by the many New Mexicans that supported me with their vote, and I'm excited to see voters in New Mexico join the millions across the nation that cast their ballot to make their voices heard.”

The Congressman recently completed his #GrassrootsRoadtrip on Sunday where he visited communities in Northern New Mexico including Gallup, Farmington, and Las Vegas. The road trip was truncated as the Congressman was briefed on the Ute Park fire and arranged for food to be delivered to the first responders in Raton and evacuees. The People for Ben campaign team and Congressman Luján met with hundreds of people during the road trip. At each stop, the Congressman focused on voting and encouraging new voters to participate in our democracy.

“We do better when more people step forward to be a part of our democracy,” said Congressman Luján. “The momentum is on our side. As we saw today, the grassroots energy is only growing. You are our strength, the future and the counterbalance that we need to stop outside Republican money. Now is the time to make sure all our friends and family vote so we win back the Governor’s seat, elect amazing Democratic candidates up-and-down the ballot, restore checks and balances in our nation, and get our country back on track.”

In his role as the Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and his local campaign, Congressman Luján has encouraged partnerships with grassroots organizations including SwingLeft and Indivisible. Under his leadership, the DCCC launched a national training program called DCCC University, for the first time in its history.

Congressman Luján voted early on Saturday in Pojoaque and did not face a Democratic primary opponent.

Colfax County Ute Park Fire Contingency Voting Plan

From Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver, June 2, 2018

2018 Primary Election: Ute Park Fire Contingency Voting Plan for Displaced Colfax County Voters

Ute Park and Village of Cimarron Under Evacuation Orders

RATON – Colfax County Clerk Rayetta Trujillo today announced a plan that will allow Colfax County residents who have been displaced by the Ute Park Fire evacuation orders to cast their 2018 Primary Election ballots at alternative locations.

“Despite this terrible disaster, it’s important that we ensure all Colfax County voters are able to cast a ballot in this election if they so choose,” said County Clerk Trujillo.

“County Clerk Trujillo and her staff are committed to making sure every voter has a voice,” said New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver. “I’ll provide whatever support they need as they deal with this unexpected catastrophe.”

Yesterday, a mandatory evacuation order was issued for the Village of Cimarron and an advisory evacuation order was issued for the community of Ute Park. The Red Cross is operating an evacuation center in Eagle Nest at the Senior Center. They are also supporting a second evacuation center at the Raton Convention Center.

On Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 5, 2018, if evacuation orders are still in place for residents of Ute Park and the Village of Cimarron, these voters will be able to vote at the Raton Convention Center located at 901 S. 3rd Street.

Those displaced voters who take shelter at the Eagle Nest Senior Center may cast a provisional ballot at the Eagle Nest Community Center, located at 151 Willow Creek Drive, which will be qualified and counted after Election Day.

Clerk Trujillo extends a reminder to all Colfax County Voters that Early Voting will take place on Saturday June 2, 2018, at the Colfax County Clerk’s Office located at 230 N. 3rd Street, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This contingency plan will be updated if additional communities are evacuated as a result of the Ute Park Fire or if existing evacuation orders are lifted.

2018 Campaign Newsletter

The momentum for the 2018 elections is building! Across the country, we are seeing millions of Democrats participate in primaries and electing diverse, qualified candidates ready to help take back Congress, governor’s seats, and state houses!

Right here in New Mexico, we can take back the governor's seat and Congress and restore checks and balances to our nation. I've seen the momentum on the ground. From roundtable conversations to meetings with activists and even visiting friends at local events, one thing is clear: New Mexico is ready. I hope you’ll join me on my 4-day Grassroots Roadtrip as I travel from Gallup to Raton and visit with communities in between.
