Breaking News: Wall Street Reform Passes House

Dear Friends, I wanted to let you all know that yesterday we took at important step toward getting our economy back on track and making sure Wall Street is not allowed to gamble with our economy again.

The House passed Wall Street Reform which will hold Wall Street
accountable, bring transparency into the financial system and put
consumers first by creating strong rules that protect against the worse
practices of Wall Street and predatory lenders while still enforcing existing
rules.

This is an important step, and one we needed to take. But even as
we took on Wall Street, some suggested that we continue to let Wall
Street banks run wild, gambling with the retirements and financial
security of New Mexicans. The Republican leader of the House compared the
current economic crisis, a crisis that costs millions people their jobs
and their savings, to an "ant" and said our Wall Street reform bill was
too tough on Wall Street bankers, calling it a "nuclear bomb."

It's that kind of thinking that we're up against. These are people who want
to coddle Wall Street and who are completely out of touch with New
Mexicans.

Thanks for your time, and your continued support.

Sincerely,

Ben Ray

P.S.
Thank you so much for all of your help before the fundraising deadline.
We reached our goal and we're going to be able to keep our youth
program going strong through the summer!
