Breaking: Debate Recap
In case you missed it, Ben Ray participated in a debate yesterday to discuss his commitment to fighting on behalf of the hard-working people of our district and our state and upholding the New Mexico values he learned from his parents and grandparents growing up on their farm.
The debate came on the heels of a candidate forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Santa Fe, in which one of our Republican opponents, Jefferson Byrd, walked out on voters after reading his opening statement.
During the KOB debate, Ben Ray highlighted the key differences in this race. While he will work to protect and strengthen Social Security, our opponent wants to privatize it. Ben Ray will continue advocating for Pell Grants that help New Mexico students afford college, while our opponent wants to get rid of the Department of Education. And Ben Ray will work to build a stronger economy, while our opponent supports deep budget cuts that have cost us jobs in New Mexico.
If you missed the live debate, you can find it online here. It will also air again on Saturday at 9 p.m. on KOB.
